NEW BEDFORD — Nearly 2,500 Eversource customers in New Bedford are currently without power.

According to Eversource's outage map, there are currently 2,420 Eversource customers in parts of downtown and the South End that are currently without power.

"The outage is affecting separate electric circuits served by our downtown electrical substation, which is why it’s so widespread," Eversource spokesman Mike Durand tellls WBSM News. "We currently have crews patrolling the area and investigating the exact cause of the outage. Once we determine that, we should be able to provide an estimated time of restoration."
