The southern part of Afghanistan is still a volatile area, and a roadside bombing has claimed the life of four US soldiers.

According to the Denver Post via the AP, NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) confirms that a roadside bombing occurred in the southern Kandahar province which has resulted is many wounded and four dead US soldiers.

Col. Thomas Collins told the AP that the vehicle was hit by an IED, which caused a powerful explosion.

This bomb isn't the first one to cause damage this week. On Monday a suicide bomber targeted a US Special Operations Forces Convoy, but there were no casualties in that attack. Three Georgian soldiers were also killed on Monday when a truck bomb exploded near their outpost.
