The Marion, Mattapoisett, and Rochester police departments will celebrate National Night Out Against Crime on August 2.

According to South Coast Today.com, the event will be held from 4:30pm to 7pm on the grounds of Old Rochester Regional High School.

The three police departments will be joined by the Tri-Town fire and EMS departments, the Marion Harbormaster Department, and the Marion Recreation Department.

National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event designed to encourage trust and friendship between citizens and local first responders.

Admission is free and open to the public.
