National Night Out in New Bedford [Townsquare Sunday]

Police officers and community groups will come together this month to celebrate the National Night Out Against Crime. New Bedford's celebration will be Tuesday, August 7 at Riverside Park at Belleville Avenue and Deane Streets. Jerry Pinto, chairman of Neighborhoods United joins Jim Phillips this week to discuss the event, which will include a tribute to fallen Massachusetts Police Officers Sgt. Sean Gannon (a New Bedford native), and Sgt. Michael Chesna. Pinto says the goal of National Night Out is to bring the community together, and break down barriers. Says Pinto, "we're all on the same team."
