National Geographic Channel’s “Shark Men” Visit New Bedford Sea Lab

Students from several New Bedford schools gathered at Sea Lab in the South End to heard from crew members aboard a vessel called “Ocearch.” Its a ship that travels around the world to gather data for marine scientists. The crew was featured on a reality TV show called “Shark Men” on the National Geographic Channel. Expedition leader Chris Fisher tells WBSM News, he and the crew love sharing their experiences with students.

The Ocearch electronically tagged two great white sharks in waters off Chatham this summer. According to Fisher, one of them is still swimming in waters off the Cape. The second has made its way to waters off North Carolina.
