After spending the last few years with the Boston Bruins, Nathan Horton has informed the team that he will not be returning next season.

Horton's agent tells ESPN that he plans on testing the free agent market one free agency in the NHL begins. He says that it's not about playing time or money, more about a fresh start.

While Horton didn't have a great regular season in Boston, scoring just 22 points in 43 games, he was great during the post season. Horton notched seven goals in 22 games in the playoffs, and also had 12 assists.

Bruins team President Cam Neely had this to say on the Horton:

Nathan has done very well for us, especially in the playoffs. He's scored some big-time goals and has made a huge impact. We like the way that line plays and we certainly would like to have Nathan back, but this is a challenging year coming up with the cap dropping as much as it does.
