Narcotics Detectives Arrest City Man And Seize Heroin

Police carry out a search warrant at a Deane Street apartment, and take down a  suspected heroin distribution business.

Nacotics Detectives searched apartment 3C at 60 Deane Street Thursday night and arrested the occupant, 41 year old Steven Vultao.

Lt. Amos Melo says Vultao is charged with possession of a class a substance with intent to distribute, conspiracy to violate drug laws, and possession of a class b substance.

Recovered in the apartment were ten bags of suspected heroin, one bag of suspected cocaine, a digital scale and packaging material, and $992 in cash.

Vultao is scheduled to be arraigned Friday in New Bedford District Court.
