MSPCA Files Animal Cruelty Complaints In Wareham
The Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has filed two animal cruelty complaints in Wareham District Court.
One of the complaints is against Anna Nelson, a former Animal Control Officer in Wareham. The agency says Nelson failed to provide veterinary care to to her ten year old terrier mix.
Officials say the dog suffered from an undiagnosed disease and was severely underweight. The dog was so sick, he ultimately had to be euthanized. Nelson will be arraigned on April 24.
The second complaint was filed against Dennis Murray of Wareham, who's accused of abandoning his 13 year old poodle mix at the Onselt Water Dept. on a very cold day.
Murray had told his family he was taking the dog to the vet's. The dog was suffering from severe eye and ear infections, but was rescued by a Water Department employee and survived. Murray will be arraigned on April 18.
