More On Thursday’s Fight Outside NBHS

There's more information available about a fight Thursday afternoon outside New Bedford High School. School Committee member Chris Cotter received a statement from the superintendent, and passed it on to WBSM's Brian Thomas.

The statement said the fight broke out around 3:15, and involved three students from Keith and a 20 year old male, who was related to one of the students.

Police responded, as did school resource officers, and Keith Principal Dr. Paula Bailey. A crowd of about 20 people, including adults and kids were watching the incident and were quickly dispersed.

The statement said no one was seriously hurt, but one student was punched. Dr. Bailey will contact the families involved and take disciplinary steps with the students.

If any high school students were involved, Headmaster Bernadette Coelho will do the same.
