Brian's Beat interviews New Bedford parent Jennifer Duarte who recently orchestrated two successful, peaceful demonstrations against Massachusetts high-stakes tests. Duarte tells us how an elementary school principal blamed her group for deliberately telling students erroneous information. And, at her daughter's school, 3rd graders that opted out of the Parcc assessments this week, were given a book to read that contained the "N" word and also mentioned the KKK. How appropriate is that for 3rd graders?

Inside sources at the Winslow School tell WBSM that the Principal intentionally blamed parents for telling students if they don't pass PAARC they will flunk? For quite some time demonstrating parents have stated students, will be held harmless if they do not take or pass this year's assessments.
