Members of the City Council aren't happy about the latest communication from the New Bedford School Committee.

The Committee wrote the Council a letter this week, asking that they respect the boundaries of the school board, and that any concerns be sent directly to the Superintendent.

That's not good enough for Councilor Linda Morad, chairperson of the Council's Finance Committee. She's moving ahead with plans to invite school officials to an upcoming committee meeting....

Morad says the City Council approved a record-setting school budget for this year, and school officials should be able to answer questions about how the money is being spent.

Morad claims Councilors have received many calls about school busing schedules, alarm systems in schools, and enrollment figures.
