State Senator Mark Montigny has secured $450,000 for New Bedford educational programs. The Senator's office announced the funding Thursday as part of the senate's Fiscal Year 2017 Budget.

The funding includes $100,000 to provide access to cultural programming for children at the Zeiterion Theatre, $80,000 for after-school programming at Dennison Memorial Community Center, and many other after-school and summer educational programs.

The senate is still hammering out the budget. Once it passes, it heads to Governor Charlie Baker's desk for approval.
