Moniz Ends Bid For Governor’s Council Seat

Walter Moniz, a one time neighborhood liasion for Mayor Fred Kalisz in New Bedford, says he likely won’t be running for Governor’s Council again. Moniz has twice tossed his hat in the ring for Governor’s Council, and has been unsuccessful both times. He finished in third place on Thursday in the Democratic Primary for the 1st District seat.

But Moniz says he’s not giving up on politics. Moniz says he’ll spend the next year or so helping those elected officials who endorsed him in his two races for Governor’s Council.
