Mitchell: Union Denies Mayor Chance To Speak At Rally

Mayor Jon Mitchell says he wanted to speak at Friday's teachers rally at New Bedford City Hall, but was denied the opportunity by the Union President.

Teachers are upset about a proposed Turnaround Plan for New Bedford High School that mandates a 50% turnouver of Teachers and staff Members 

Mitchell says he wants to begin a dialogue with teachers about changes at New Bedford High School.....

The Mayor says the Union President had regular meetings with the two previous Superintendents in New Bedford, but he's refused to meet with Supt. Durkin.
