Mitchell Testifies In Support of Governor’s Revenue Plan, Southcoast Rail

Mayyor Jon Mitchell addressed the Joint Committee on Transporation Oversight on Tuesday at the Statehouse, urging lawmakers to support Governor Patrick’s tax plan to fund transporation projects like Southcoast Rail.
Mitchell says extending commuter rail service to Taunton, New Bedford and Fall Rver is too important to let fall by the wayside…..

One of those sacrifices says Mitchell is raising the state’s income tax to pay for education and transportation projects.
Legislators so far, have been lukewarm towards the Governor’s revenue plan.
