The City of New Bedford has spent its entire snow removal budget, and its only the first week in February.

Speaking on his weekly radio program, Mayor Jon Mitchell says the City exhausted the remainder of its $350,000 budget for snow removal while battling two storms this week.

Mitchell says most of the money is spent on road salt and paying overtime for city employees.

One bright note says the Mayor;   it appears that more people are complying with the city's snow emergency parking ban.  Police issued 355 tickets to violators Tuesday night and Wednesday.  Mitchell says during a storm last year, more than 800 tickets were issued
