Mitchell Pledges Help For Niche’ Workers

New Bedford Mayor Jon Mitchell says his administration will assist laid off workers from Niche. Inc. anyway it can.
The company is located in the south end and manufactures cargo parachutes for the u-s military. This week, the company announced its contracts were wrapping up, and the layoff of 360 workers would likely happen during the next few months. Mayor Mitchell says he wasn’t surprized by the announcement….

Mitchell says his administratioin will be working with the Career Center and New Directions to help those employees who want to work, find new jobs. He added, community organizations would be reaching out to those workers, to help them make ends meet
