Mitchell Defends Hiring Practices

Mayor Jon Mitchell says people who listen to comments from the New Bedford City Council must sometimes wonder what city they're talking about.  The Mayor responded to comments last week that his administration didn't hire enough women.....

Mitchell says there are four department head appointments pending before the City Council, and two of them are women.  He also insisted he'll continue to hire high-caliber people for important jobs.  The Mayor claims the Council is making accusations because they're upset at him for vetoing their pay raise.
