The City of New Bedford is seeking more money for its Riverwalk project, and is asking the Natural Resource Trustee Council to take another look at its priorities.

Mayor Jon Mitchell is asking the Council to revisit its list of priority projects, and award the Riverwalk plan more funding from the Bouchard Oil Spill Settlement.

Speaking on his weekly radio program, Mitchell said the Riverwalk will give residents more access to the upper harbor....

New Bedford was on the second tier of projects announced last month.

The Natural Resource Trustee Council has just concluded a public comment period, and is now preparing to finalize its list of projects.

Announcements should be made by early summer.
