Miss New Bedford Crowned

There's a new Miss New Bedford. 22 year old Janelle Guenette of Acushnet won the crown over 14 other girls Sunday before a crowd of 700 people. She is a graduate of Bridgewater State College and competed in 2010 and has competed in a number of other pagents. Her talent is singing and she sang 'Almost There" from the "Princess and the Frog" and her platform will be promoting  "Big Brother Big Sister".  She says she's going to use her $6 thousand dollar in scholarship money to pay off student loans or finance graduate school. She'll represent New Bedford in the Miss Massachusetts pagent later this year.
