BOSTON — A Middleborough man faces multiple charges after allegedly stealing a truck and injuring two police officers in Boston.

Police say Robert Bjorkman, 49, stole a truck at about noon on Saturday in Boston.

Several attempts to stop the vehicle were unsuccessful.

Bjorkman struck several parked vehicles before backing into a police cruiser with an officer inside. Police say another officer exited his cruiser and was struck by the stolen truck.

Both officers were transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Bjorkman was arrested and faces numerous charges including assault to murder and malicious destruction of property.
