A six year old boy is listed in critical condition in a Boston-area hospital following a near-drowning in Wareham on Saturday.

Police were called to the Maple Park Campground in East Wareham just before 1pm. Police Chief Kevin Walsh says the boy had been pulled from a pond at the campground and was being administered C-P-R. Its not known how long the boy was in the water.

Police say the child was unresponsive. He was taken to Tobey Hospital, and then flown by helicopter to Boston.

Chief Walsh says the child and his mother are from Middleboro. They were staying at the campground at the time of the incident.
