Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones are Separating

It surprised me when the news came out that Michael Douglass and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones were taking some time apart "to evaluate and work on their marriage," even though they haven't filed for a legal separation or divorce.

There have been some other surprising and sad break ups, as well. George Clooney & Stacy Keibler, Ozzy Osbourne & Sharon after 30 years, Jane Seymour & James Keach divorced after 20 years, Danny DeVito & Rhea Perlman separated after 30 years, Ryan Seacrest & Julianne Hough, among others.
