It's August 6th. Have you heard it yet? The annual "I'm bored" of summer from your kids. By their evaluation, they have exhausted the beach, the pool, the lake, the playground, the backyard, the video games, the amusement parks, and movies. What other option do they have to avoid that summer reading list?

Introducing "Messy Twister!" The idea is so simple, but it's a fun way to keep your kids occupied and then cool off in the heat. Mix shaving cream and food coloring and place the concoction on the appropriate spots on the Twister mat. Spin the wheel as you would in a normal game of Twister, but the kids have to land in a gooey mess on the colored circles. They'll giggle and scream at the squishy feeling, and you'll silence the boredom for another day. Not to mention the fun they might have running through the sprinkler to clean off after the game is done.
