A century before Martin Luther King Jr. and Barack Obama, there was Frederick Douglass!

Actor Mel Johnson Jr., in a one-man performance about the most noted and eminent African-American activist, will portray Frederick Douglass: In The Shadow Of Slavery, Friday, Feb. 28 at 8 p.m. at the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center.

Mr. Johnson joins me for an exclusive interview on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 5 p.m. to talk about this one-man theatrical journey that has received rave reviews. We'll chronicle Douglass' remarkable life, that brought him to New Bedford to launch his new life as a free man!

Mel Johnson Jr. is easily recognizable from his Total Recall co-starring role opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger, countless major motion pictures, Broadway shows and numerous TV shows. Listen to the conversation at www.wbsm.com.
