After leaving his team's 2-1 overtime win over the Montreal Canadians Saturday just 37 seconds into the game, Boston Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy has already been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Detroit Red Wings.

Speaking to the media today, Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy said he had "nothing new to report," regarding the injury, but that the young star would not play tomorrow night.

McAvoy was set to get reevaluated by the team's medical staff on Monday afternoon, but no report has been released about his lower body injury or timetable to return.

In his absence, the B's will call upon Brandon Carlo to step up and fill the void on the team's top defensive line with captain Zdeno Chara.
