Google Maps

According to the Boston Globe, a teenager from Mattapoisett hit a freight train during the Thursday morning commute in Buzzard’s Bay.

Police in Bourne said the driver of a Nissan was taken to Tobey Hospital after she crashed her car into the side of the Massachusetts Coastal Railroad train on the tracks that cross Academy Drive just off of Main Street, Buzzards Bay. The train hauls trash off of Cape Cod to the Covanta SEMASS facility in Rochester.

The teen’s ID and specific condition are unknown, but it is believed that she’ll be OK. She was issued a citation for failing to stop for a red light.
