Mattapoisett Police: Man Shot in Bicep After Argument, One Man Arrested

Mattapoisett Police have arrested a man they say shot another man in the town.

The shooting was reported Wednesday night around 7pm by a man on North Street who told police he had heard a loud argument at his neighbor's house followed by what he believed to be a gunshot.

Upon their arrival, police found that two men at the reported residence had become embroiled in a verbal argument that turned physical, with one man allegedly shooting the other in the bicep.

The man that police say pulled the trigger has been arrested.

The victim has been transported to Rhode Island Hospital with what appears to be a serious but non-life threatening injury.

No names have been released in the shooting, which remains under investigation. Police say the shooting was an isolated incident.
