Mattapoisett Man Killed In 495 Crash

State Police say a 77-year-old man was killed when his car crashed on Interstate 495 in Middleborough.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the man was driving southbound when his car went off the roadway on the right side and crashed. It happened around 5 p.m. Friday.

The victim was identified as William Matthews of Mattapoiset, State Police say he was the only occupant of the car, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
