The Boston Red Sox activated pitcher Justin Masterson from the 15-day disabled list on Tuesday.

Masterson hasn't appeared in a game since May 12, due to right
shoulder tendinitis, and was placed on the DL two days later. In
seven starts this season, the right-hander went 2-2 with a lofty
6.37 earned run average.

To make room on the roster, the Sox sent pitcher Steven Wright to
Triple-A Pawtucket.

In additional moves, Boston added catcher Erik Kratz to the active
roster and sent outfielder Rusney Castillo to the PawSox.

Kratz was claimed off waivers from the Royals on Sunday. He failed
to record a hit in four games with the defending American League
champs.

Castillo hit .230 with one homer and six RBI in 26 games for the
big league club in 2015. (Metro Network Inc.)
