Massachusetts lost more than one thousand jobs in November, but the state's unemployment rate remained unchanged at 6.6 percent.

The preliminary estimate of 1,100 jobs lost last month comes on the heels of a revised gain of 11,900 jobs in October. Massachusetts remains below the national unemployment rate, which fell to a four-year low of 7.7 percent in November.

But the state jobless rate has climbed by more than half a point since June. The Greater New Bedford unemployment rate will be announced this Wednesday.
