Residents of Manchester-by-the-Sea will receive a free Amazon Prime membership as a "thank you" for lending their tiny Essex County town's name to the blockbuster film, according to The Hollywood Reporter

The film Manchester by the Sea, which was distributed by Amazon Studios, won two Oscars this year and brought major recognition to a town of 5,136 people unknown to even most people living in the Bay State.

Along with a free year of the subscription service, residents also receive a year's worth of Wickedly Prime Popcorn, Amazon's own popcorn line featuring tasty flavors such as caramel and cheddar.

The marketing stunt doesn't come cheap, as each Prime membership comes with a $99 price tag, plus the snacks!

The film will be released on Amazon Prime this Friday.
