More than a thousand Massachusetts schools will try a new testing system this spring meant to replace the MCAS. The schools are spread across Boston, its upscale suburbs, and a number of the Gateway Cities including Springfield. The test is known as the "Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers" and goes by the acronym "PARC." For the first time, the test of student achievement will be administered online.
