Massachusetts Powerball Jackpot Reaches $500 Million

The jackpot for Wednesday night's Powerball drawing is up to a half-billion-dollars.  Powerball ticket sales are brisk ahead of the big drawing. The cash option for a winner of the 500-million-dollar jackpot would be $327-million.  People in states like Alabama, Nevada and Utah where Powerball tickets are not sold are crossing state lines to buy them.

The state with the highest ticket sales for this jackpot is Florida.  About 83-million-dollars in Powerball tickets have been sold in that state since early October.
