While it's no longer making headlines, many people in New York and New Jersey are still waiting for relief after Hurricane Sandy struck in October. That's why some Southeastern Massachusetts residents are looking to make a difference and help out.

The Hope for Hurricane Sandy Relief project is holding a three-day building supply drive in Hyannis.

Organizer Jenny Jordan tells WBSM News many New Yorkers are still out in the cold, waiting for help.

Jordan says a truck will be parked outside the Home Depot in Hyannis from 9am to 9pm this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, accepting donations of sheetrock, metal studs, compound, and insulation as well as monetary donations.

The drive marks the 16th truck the group will be filling to deliver to Staten Island and other locations ravaged by Hurricane Sandy.
