Massachusetts Gas Prices Rise for 7th Straight Week

BOSTON (AP) _ The price of gasoline in Massachusetts has risen for the seventh consecutive week.

AAA Northeast's weekly price survey released Monday found self-serve, regular selling for an average of $2.08 per gallon, 8 cents more than last week.

The price is 3 cents per gallon lower than the national average and 38 cents lower than it was in Massachusetts a year ago.

Self-serve, regular was found selling for as low as $1.91 per gallon and as high as $2.29.

AAA attributes the higher prices to increased demand, declining refinery production and rising crude costs.
