The driving ban that Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick put in place on Friday is still in effect, but will be lifted as of 4pm Saturday afternoon.

Update 1:16pm - The CT Post reports that Governor Patrick will be lifting the driving ban at 4pm Saturday afternoon.  Despite the ban being lifted, the Governor still urges everyone to stay off the roads until crews can work on them more.

The ban went into effect on Friday at 4pm and prohibits anyone from driving on the roadways except emergency personal, hospital workers and media folks.

We have no word on when the ban will be lifted, but we'll keep you up to date to see when it's safe to go back out on the roads. Some State Troopers are not ticketing drivers, but that does not speak for all. The Bershire Eagle reports that the Governor may lift the ban region by region.
