New Bedford Attorney and State Committeewoman Mardee Xifarias is a delegate to the convention. She views the convention as a time to recognize the work President Obama has done.

Xifaras says Massachusetts politicians, past and present, will play a key role throughout the convention. Xifaras attened a forum on heath care on Tuesday.

Other Bay Staters scheduled to speak include Senator John Kerry, Gov. Deval Patrick, and U-S Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren.
