Mass. Governor Deval Patrick held a press conference on Monday morning to announce that the MBTA will be expanding to the Southcoast.

There will now be commuter rail lines in Fall River, New Bedford and Taunton, according to WLNE. People living on the Southcoast will now be able to take a commuter rail into and around the Boston area.

Gov. Patrick announced that the new primary line will run to New Bedford, with the secondary line running to Fall River.

The "southcoast Rail" project has been discussed for years, and was thought to be just a myth. That myth appears to be coming to life, finally.
