The state cop who leaked arrest photos of Dzhokar Tsarnaev to the press will be placed on restricted duty for now. The decision was made at a hearing yesterday at State Police headquarters in Framingham.

Sgt Sean Murphy gained folk-hero status after releasing the bloody photos in response to the image of Tsarnaev on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine.

Police Supt Timothy Alben emphasized that Murphy had broken protocol and must face discipline.
