Mass. State Police say they're stepping up patrols this Memorial Day weekend, to keep drivers safe.

State Police Major Anthony Thomas says 90 additional patrols have been scheduled this weekend in Southeastern Massachusetts and the Cape.

The State Police will also bring back additional patrols this summer along Route 24 and Interstate 195.

Thomas says those patrols worked last year.  He says there had been no fatalities on Route 24 from last July till  a fatal crash happened last Tuesday during rush hour traffic.
