An assistant principal at a Massachusetts high school has been convicted of drunken driving.

Easthampton High School assistant principal Anne Beauregard received a one-year suspended sentence on Tuesday following a bench trial in Springfield District Court. The sentence was suspended for two years while Beauregard is on probation.

During probation she must refrain from drinking alcohol and submit to random testing. She must also go to an inpatient alcohol treatment program.

Beauregard was arrested in January in West Springfield. She has been on paid administrative leave since.

Superintendent Nancy Follansbee tells The Republican that she will meet with Beauregard this week to discuss her future.

She had been convicted of drunken driving twice before.
