The Southcoast Commutor Rail Project is part of a 12 billion dollar transportation bill that passed the Massachusetts House Wednesday night. The bill includes 2.2 billion dollars for the exetnsion of commutor rail service to New Bedford. The bill also includes money for the extension of the MBTA green line to Medford and Somerville and 300 million dollars for road and bridge repairs. The measure which authorizes borrowing but doesn't guarentee all the projects will be funded and now moves on to the State Senate.
