The price of a gallon of gasoline in Massachusetts plunged 6 cents in the past week, yet remains above the national average.

AAA Southern New England reports Tuesday that self-serve, regular has dropped to an average of $3.50 per gallon.

That price is 17 cents lower than a month ago, 16 cents lower than at this time a year ago, yet still 3 cents above the current national average.

AAA found a wide range of prices for self-serve, regular, from a low of $3.27 per gallon, to a high of $3.89.
