An energy company looking to branch into New Bedford is pulling back for the time being.

Representatives from the company "Just Energy" reached out to Ward Two City Councilor Steven Martins after he filed a motion calling for an investigation into the company's business practices.

Martins says he's received numerous complaints about pushy and rude sales reps from the company, but he's tabled the motion after meeting with a few higher-ups from Just Energy. He tells WBSM News he's been assured the company will work to correct any mistakes.

Martins says he has received less and less complaints as the company pulls representatives out of the city.

He says though he did not formally call for the investigation into their business practices, the Attorney General's office is aware of Just Energy's reputation.
