Being from Boston, it kind of comes as no surprise that Mark Wahlberg is set to produce and star in a movie about the Boston Marathon bombing and the manhunt that followed.

Deadline.com broke the news today that CBS Films will be fast tracking Wahlberg's project in hopes of getting it made and out to theaters before another Boston Marathon bombing film that is in the works.

The film Wahlberg is attached to will be called Patriots' Day and will tell the story based on the firsthand account of Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis, who led the manhunt. The film will be very realistic too, featuring research done and footage shot by 60 Minutes.

Sources say Mark Wahlberg also hopes to play Ed Davis on the big screen.

The script is reportedly almost done, so you could see this one filming around Boston as early as this summer.
