Environmentalists protesting fossil fuel-burning power plants made a stop in New Bedford Thursday morning, to show their support for wind power, and the Marine Commerce Terminal project in the South End.

When completed, the terminal will serve as a staging area for Cape Wind and other offshore wind projects.

Organizer Craig Altemose is excited about the project....

Mayor Jon Mitchell thanked the marchers for their support.  He says the project will mean hundreds of jobs for New Bedford area residents  in the years ahead.
