NEW BEDFORD — Last Monday, State Representatives Antonio F.D. Cabral (D-New Bedford), Paul Schmid (D-Westport) and the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE) participated in a Manufacturing Matching Grant check presentation to NFI Corp. (Nameplates for Industry), a global leader in high-performing custom printed graphic solutions, based in New Bedford.

NFI Corp. received a $3,750 grant through SBANE’s Manufacturing Matching Grant Program. Renaud Megard, president and CEO of NFI Corp., received the check on behalf of the business and the check presentation was followed by a tour of the facilities.

“It was a pleasure to meet NFI Corp.’s team at last week’s event. It was also a great opportunity for the New Bedford-based manufacturing company to showcase their impressive work,” said Rep. Cabral. “There is this assumption that manufacturing is no longer thriving in New Bedford and throughout Massachusetts – my experience at NFI Corp. proves quite the opposite. And with the help of programs like the Manufacturing Matching Grant Program, we can continue to support these critical manufacturing jobs.”

“NFI Corp. showcases the many unique manufacturing opportunities that exist on the South Coast and throughout Massachusetts,” said Rep. Schmid. “I look forward to witnessing the benefits of this grant program and thank all those involved for their continued investment in our region.”

The funding for the Manufacturing Matching Grant Program is provided by the Massachusetts Department of Business Development, under the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development.

“This program truly sets us apart,” said SBANE President Karim Hill. “This year alone we are supporting over 1400 jobs in the Commonwealth as companies like NFI make necessary improvements to their business operations.”
