Man’s Body Found Dead Near Weld Square After Shots Fired

A man was found dead near Weld Square early Sunday morning after police responded to gunshots fired nearby.

According to a statement from the Bristol County District Attorney's Office, the man's body was found around 2 a.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

New Bedford and State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney's Office are currently investigating the incident.
