New Bedford Police had their guns drawn this morning after receiving reports of a man with a firearm near Holy Family Holy Name School in the West End.

The call came in around 7:30am Tuesday morning, with reports indicating a man had fired a rifle near the school.

Upon further investigation, police determined the man in question had been firing a pellet gun in his own yard.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says no crime was committed. No injuries were reported.
